Carnival Expands “Express Dining” Fleetwide to Speed Up Service
Carnival Cruise Line is officially rolling out Express Dining, a new service designed to provide the full main dining room experience in under 60 minutes. Currently active on 15 ships, the program is scheduled to be available across the entire fleet by the end of May.
The Details: Fast Food, Gourmet Quality
The Express Dining option targets guests who want a high-quality, multi-course meal without the traditional two-hour time commitment.
-
Who it’s for: Groups of six guests or fewer.
-
Availability: Offered nightly in the main dining room for those using Your Time Dining.
-
The Menu: A curated version of the standard dining room menu, ensuring the same quality while streamlining the kitchen’s pace.
-
How to join: Guests can opt-in directly via the Carnival HUB App.
Why the Change?
According to Carnival President Christine Duffy, the move is a direct response to guest feedback. Travelers are increasingly looking for flexibility, wanting to balance a sit-down dinner with the cruise’s evening entertainment and activities.
“Our guests continue to tell us they value greater flexibility in how they spend their time on board, and Express Dining was designed with that in mind,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Our pilot program generated positive feedback from our guests. With this in mind, we are excited to expand Express Dining to offer them the same high quality dishes and attentive service our dining rooms are known for, while giving guests the ability to use more of their time to enjoy all the other onboard fun” — Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line
Current Ship Rollout
The service is already live on the following vessels:
-
Excel Class: Jubilee, Celebration, Mardi Gras
-
Vista Class: Vista, Horizon, Panorama
-
Venice Class: Venezia, Firenze
-
Additional Ships: Sunrise, Radiance, Breeze, Conquest, Dream, Glory, and Freedom.
This initiative follows the success of the Family Express service on the Lido Deck, signaling a broader shift toward giving passengers more control over their schedules.
